What Does An Entrepreneur Do When At A Loose End?

Simple answer, they do more work because the true entrepreneur is never at a loose end. There are so many ways to work and things to do when you work on projects for yourself. Your mind works overtime even waking you up in the night to think about a project or possibilities. So one of the things that an entrepreneur must do, especially if he or she is serious about not burning out, is make sure they take time out and chill.

Facebook Closing Down on the 15th Of March

Yes apparently Zuckerburg has had enough and just wants his life back and people to actually meet up in real life rather than on the net etc… Facebook is closing on March 15th!

Putting Together a Magazine. How I Make "Spain Is Different"

For the last two months I have been putting together a weekly magazine called “Spain is Different” It is a round up of news from Spain including oddities, sport, corruption and fun. I thought that it would be good to tell you how I do it to get the time down to around 3-4 hours to produce and distribute it and also give it a personal touch.

The magazine is a collaborative effort of course. I put it together myself but it takes a lot of input from others which I curate and place it the magazine. I use social media a lot to put this together and I thought you would be interested to know the process I use to put together the Spain is Different experience.

The Scum At The Daily Mail and The Idiots Who Read It (and Believe It)

There is one bit of great news coming out of the social media revolution. Newspapers are dying out. At current rates there will be no papers left in the United States by the year 2050 and hopefully the same thing will happen in the UK after Levenson and the standards of reporting having fallen so low.

2010? Good Riddance!

The last month has been lost in the ether for me. Because of fiestas, lots of news coming from the left field, visits, idiots who have placed us in an unenviable position through irresponsibility and a host of other things I cannot wait to turn the page and get into 2011.

A few weeks ago I gave a presentation at the Turbo Charge Networking Event in Fuengirola. Here are the slides in their original format. Obviously without the commentary they make a little less ense. However if you go to the link at the end you can listen to the whole presentation and get a copy of all of the resources mentioned.

Neglect

I have been seriously neglecting this blog. There are many reasons but I am not going to go into excuses here, just to tell you I have been unfaithful. I am writing my best stuff on two other sites at the moment, http://www.blokesontheblog.co.uk and as a guest post author on http://www.birdsontheblog.co.uk. Therefore not much is coming on here that is new. Ally that to the summer and the ridiculous number of clients coming into http://www.Valencia-property.com then you can see that [...]

The Laptop Entrepreneur - The Anti Crisis Book

Wherever you go in Spain and, I am reliably informed, in the UK and many other places too you overhear the following words; “Crisis”, Recession”, “Lost Job”, “Unemployment” and various others of the same type. There is a generalised fear around that is making people scared of taking action to actually do anything because they believe there is no point, nobody is buying. I would just like to say one thing at this point, don’t believe the hype.

If You Don't Like Swearing...

…then it’s probably not wise to read my article about the attitude of David Cameron last week at the European summit, Just One Square Mile . If you don’t mind swearing then you are safe to read and agree or disagree according to whether you think Cameron has become a national hero or that he has made Britain a pariah in Europe,

How Do You Become The Google Of Your Market?

Living in Spain is rather strange at times. I have said before in these pages that Spanish life is rather conformist, what one person does successfully everybody else follows in general. Successful estate agents beget copycat models, and the same can be said of academies, theme bars, delicatessens and a huge etcetera. Google is the absolute killer in this area though because people started to use it and everybody else followed. Loads copied but none got traction. In fact just like in English there is a phrase which says “Look for it in Google”, ie Google it.
