How would you define an entrepreneur? Essentially an entrepreneur is somebody who starts up a business, but not everyone who starts up a business can really be called an entrepreneur. The Entrepreneurship Definition is a bit more complex than that. Entrepreneurs see opportunities where others see problems. Entrepreneurs develop their capacity over time to identify areas where they can make profits and take businesses forward.
The main question is though what makes an entrepreneur? Are you born as a potential risk taker? Is it actually a risk to become an entrepreneur? Do you develop your entrepreneurial skills over time? The issue of risk may be the distinguishing feature of entrepreneurs over other people. Most people assume that entrepreneurs take risks which are not at all calculated, however entrepreneurs themselves see the risk in the reliance on an income stream which can be turned off at any moment by you employer closing the company down or making big mistakes which you cannot control. Evaluation of risk depends on perception therefore.
Primarily though you need to have a desire and fire in your belly with ideas and the ability to not only react to circumstance but also create that circumstance yourself.
Is this the real entrepreneur definition or do you have some other ideas?
