Productive Time Management

Productive Time Management

Are you productive in what you do daily? Do you use your downtime in a productive way? I only ask because I wrote a blog post yesterday on my Mac because I arrived 20 minutes early for an appointment as a previous appointment didn’t take as long as I thought it would. I had a choice, go into a cafe for a most excellent Spanish coffee and maybe flick through the sports paper or amaze myself by the levels of corruption in a local municipality or write a blog post about that corruption. I chose the latter and the words flowed.

Fifteen minutes later I had the blog post you can see here, Power Corruption and Lies. I don’t type quickly, I am a two fingered typist, yet I could get that post done for later editing and uploading in just fifteen minutes.

How many times during a day do you have down time? How could you better use that time and be a lot more productive. I think that I now have a Pomodoro timer implanted in my head so that any short time period is content creation time.

Now if only I had an iphone, imagine the number of audio posts I could make to the blogs by just talking about the “only in Spain’s” that happen here regularly.

  2. I guess my biggest obstacle to staying productive is many distractions. By the way, it would be cool if you did have an iPhone and published some audio posts. I am sure they would be really interesting.

  3. I use audioboo to do that Jeffery.
