If you are running an online business there are various important factors. Firstly your pages must be found, you need good rankings in Google, presence in social media and a whole lot more. You can buy traffic or you can get it naturally by ranking and ranking well. However what you must ensure more than anything is that your site is there when people click on it.

What I hear you ask, of course it will be there. Well that is not exactly true. There are many ways to get a website, you can do it through Blogger, Weebly, Squidoo, WordPress or many other services and have it hosted for you or you can get a hosting company to give you some space and you put up your own site. This may sound difficult but once you know the basics there is really nothing to it. However in order to do this you need good hosting.

Hosting is available from many different providers but when you are looking at hosting your sites the first thing that you should look at is reliability. What is the uptime for the host? There are many hosts that will claim over 90% uptime, in reality that is terrible. This could mean that up to 10% of your clicks never actually find your site. You need a reliable host and more importantly than that even you need good solid technical support when you have an issue, especially if you are not a techie just like me.

This blog is hosted by Hostgator just like most of my other websites. Hostgator I have found to be ultra reliable on the uptime side and the interface you use for managing the site, the cpanel, is excellent. Even more than this though they have a technical support that is second to none. Live chat is available 24 hours per day and all of their technicians know how to deal with even the most stupid of questions, I make lots of them so should know.

They have plans that mean you can be up and running on your own site from just $4.95 per month and a plan allowing you unlimited domains on a hosting plan is available for just $9.95 per month. I currently run 30 sites on one of these plans on a single hosting so obviously I have no issues with their service.

Now the good part if you click on the banner and sign up for hostgator’s service I have a coupon code that will get you a discount on your hosting from them. Just type in “Entrepreneur10” when you sign up in the area reserved for the coupon code and you will get a nice little discount too. Try them, they work really well. Just go to www.hostgator.com or click on the banner above and on checkout use the coupon code. (As you can see on the banner they now have Green web hosting too.)
