When A Post Goes Viral. "The Battle For Spanish Society" (Part Deux)

I wrote a post on here last week called “The Battle For Spanish Society” it was a slow burner but got a good initial reaction. Then after a few days it sort of went viral. Not in a big way you understand, just that everyone started sharing it and commenting on it on various social networks. The debate thus started I am able to stand back and see how the opinions start coming in and changing the format of the debate over time.

Do Productivity (Or Procrastination) Have Long Tails?

It is estimated that more than half of the searches done on Google daily are unique. ie not everyone is searching for Justin Bieber, although according to trending topics in Twitter it may seem that way. As I work in real estate I will give an example from that. Valencia Property may be a general search term but “3 bed townhouse near the beach in Valencia” may well get you a very much better result. (The Google results are in red.)

The Battle For Spanish Society

Spain is at a crossroads, a place where the next moves forward could determine a lot of future outcomes for better or worse. Spain is in a fully blown crisis both of the economy and also of confidence. Spain needs change and that change cannot come too soon.

However Spain also has good raw materials. When you have good raw materials you just have to to put them together well into something that is worth it. Spain has those raw materials in my opinion but can it mix them together well, I am not too sure of that.

Keeping Productive in the Car: Podcasts and Preneurcast

Being a small businessman (That means having a small business not being under five foot tall) means that there is often a temptation to continually work. Unfortunately I succumb to that temptation, I generally work. One of the places that I often do work is in the car. Now I am not sending e-mails. I am not texting, although I have been known to do it at traffic lights for example. What I tend to do is to listen to podcasts.

Having an iPhone means that I can put the podcast on in the car and from that I can listen to whichever one I want. One of my most listened ones is by Dom Goucher and Pete Williams and is called Preneurcast.

2010? Good Riddance!

The last month has been lost in the ether for me. Because of fiestas, lots of news coming from the left field, visits, idiots who have placed us in an unenviable position through irresponsibility and a host of other things I cannot wait to turn the page and get into 2011.

Opportunity Cost For Entrepreneurs

When you are an entrepreneur you see opportunities at every turn. This week for example I have had ideas of at least four possibilities for putting together a business. So what I want to talk about today is opportunity cost Opportunity cost is one of the biggest, most important things that you should take into account when starting a new project because you can use so much time doing a project that really hasn’t got the potential to make itself [...]

If You Could Achieve Only One Thing This Year...

So here is a question or three and a few challenges for you.

“If you could achieve only one thing this year in your business what would it be?”
“If you could achieve only one thing this year in your personal life what would it be?”
“If you could achieve only one thing this year in your health this year what would it be?”

Once you define your main goals by answering these questions then you can begin to move along the path to getting there. As has been stated so many times by so many people “A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step” and “If you don’t know where you are going then it doesn’t matter in which direction you start” or various takes on those themes.

Technologically Challenged Times

For the longest time now, the last few months to be exact, I have been trying to drag an iPhone4 out of the hands of Vodafone and into my grateful palms. My Blackberry is dying fast. Every day it decides it wants a quick siesta, after all it is in Spain and when in Spain… I get the coldest unblinking stare of the egg timer as the phone gives up.

Getting Out And About

My chair is beginning to get worn out. I spend too much time on it. I have a workchair in the living room for when nobody is in the house and I won’t be disturbed. It means my back is to the window and the World, as represented by my garden, is passing me by. I can be six hours at a time in the chair if I allow myself of course.

Neglect

I have been seriously neglecting this blog. There are many reasons but I am not going to go into excuses here, just to tell you I have been unfaithful. I am writing my best stuff on two other sites at the moment, http://www.blokesontheblog.co.uk and as a guest post author on http://www.birdsontheblog.co.uk. Therefore not much is coming on here that is new. Ally that to the summer and the ridiculous number of clients coming into http://www.Valencia-property.com then you can see that [...]
