As I mentioned in my previous post, we have a new book out “The Secrets to Working and Making a Living in Spain” which we are hoping will be a best seller over a long period of time. To this effect we decided to eschew the now infamous internet marketing style product launch, wham bam thank you man and onto the next product, and go for the drip feed approach to launching a book.
Just in case you haven’t noticed, I think a few people may have mentioned it, but there are others living in denial or in some cloud somewhere, there is a World Economic Crisis going on right now. Surprised? You may have heard something about it, the Eurozone crisis, the credit crunch, companies falling like ninepins, even Kodak went recently… Yes there is a crisis going on. We are in a period of flux and change and that is certain.
However out of crisis comes opportunity. If you know how to work the crisis.
Wherever you go in Spain and, I am reliably informed, in the UK and many other places too you overhear the following words; “Crisis”, Recession”, “Lost Job”, “Unemployment” and various others of the same type. There is a generalised fear around that is making people scared of taking action to actually do anything because they believe there is no point, nobody is buying. I would just like to say one thing at this point, don’t believe the hype.
I have been working on a project which has seen the light this week six months after conception. But it is interesting to see how a project can develop over time and how “shipping” dates can easily slip as a minor project becomes more and more important.
